We take a collaborative approach to developing strategic goals to provide a diverse range of information technology and business services designed to support learning, teaching and research at the University of Derby.</p><p>Digital Solutions &amp; Services are responsible for ensuring that the University&rsquo;s IT capability is fit for purpose, future focused and able to protect, support and enhance the full breadth of services that will be delivered either on campus or digitally online with contributions across the department. We aim to assist students, teaching staff, support departments and collaborative partners to ensure we are making an impact on the University&rsquo;s current and future digital landscape.&nbsp;</p><h2>About the Role</h2><p data-pasted="true">As a Digital Delivery Coordinator, you&rsquo;ll be the organisational heartbeat of our technical delivery teams &mdash; keeping projects moving, information flowing and activity running smoothly across a busy digital environment. You&rsquo;ll plan and track work, manage dependencies, coordinate technical resources and ensure documentation, reporting and governance are always sharp, accurate and audit-ready.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll work across multiple technical workstreams, supporting deployments, testing phases, supplier activity and day-to-day operations. You won&rsquo;t manage people, but you&rsquo;ll influence widely &mdash; driving clarity, shaping meetings, escalating risks early and helping senior technical leads make informed decisions. This role is a brilliant launchpad into digital delivery or technical coordination. You&rsquo;ll gain exposure to infrastructure, applications, data, service management and supplier engagement, building a strong foundation for future progression in a modern, ambitious digital department. Working across level 3, level 4 and level 6 programmes within the Skills Academy, with a particular emphasis on emphasis on welding processes and techniques, within a mechanical engineering context.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Working closely with academics and members of technical team, you will provide specialist support relating to machine shop activities. Working across several laboratories with a high degree of autonomy, and providing additional technical support across the academy as required.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will be part of our technical team responsible for the maintenance, operation and safety of college equipment. Able to provide full technical support to apprentice students and staff, including training and advice on the appropriate use of resources.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><em>This role is employed by University of Derby but works in partnership with Rolls-Royce Submarines Ltd. Due to the nature of work that Rolls-Royce Submarines Ltd conducts and the protection of certain assets, some roles within the Nuclear Skills Academy (NSA) require post-holders to hold Security Clearance (SC).&nbsp;</em></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><em>This role does not currently require SC clearance, and this will not be a condition of appointment to this role. The role ensures that environments are safe, well-managed and able to support high-quality teaching, research and operational activity.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">Acting as the key intermediary between Academic staff, occupiers, Facilities Management contractors and the University Estates team, this role will hold responsibility for building management and the safety and security of users of the facilities, ensuring that environments are safe, well managed and able to support high quality teaching, research and operational activity. The post holder will represent University requirements, coordinate planned and reactive &amp; project works, oversee maintenance, statutory compliance, process development and the provision of accurate management information, ensuring alignment with University policy, priorities and assurance frameworks.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will ensure compliance with all relevant Health &amp; Safety and statutory requirements, while overseeing daily operational delivery through the TFM contractor across waste, cleaning, visitor management and building maintenance. You will engage with key stakeholders, review monthly performance data to support effective Service Level Agreement management, and plan resources up to three months ahead using Gantt charts and CAFM‑based PPM schedules.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The role also includes preparing quarterly risk reports, contributing to Health &amp; Safety meetings and audits, and supporting ISO 14001 compliance. You will manage small works projects, ensuring coordination with contractors and adherence to legislation, while maintaining regular communication with building occupiers to resolve issues proactively.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><strong>The anticipated interview date for this role is Tuesday 23rd June 2026.</strong></p><p data-pasted="true"><em>This role is employed by University of Derby but works in partnership with Rolls-Royce Submarines Ltd, therefore in order to undertake this position an individual must hold Security Clearance (SC) without any caveats to that clearance. As a TEF Gold institution, we are proud to contribute high quality programmes grounded in psychological and behavioural science with a significant focus on applied psychology and professional practice. We host a large accredited provision across several Professional and Statutory Regulatory Bodies (including the CIEHF, BABCP, BACP, NCPS, BPS and HCPC). Programmes range from undergraduate underpinnings and initial postgraduate training for some psychological professions, to delivery that supports careers in sectors such as marketing, business, management and leadership (and many more). Furthermore we offer training in a range of therapeutic modalities across the counselling and psychotherapy courses and contribute to the development of the wider psychological workforce through our NHS based commissioned programmes. Our delivery is further underpinned by high quality scientific research and scholarly activity, with industry informed and based research informing and leading the development of curriculum to ensure programmes are meeting the needs of employers to foster the success of our graduates from across the subject.&nbsp;</p><p>We are excited to be able to advertise this role for a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Ergonomics and Human Factors. We are looking for someone to join our ergonomics team to support the delivery of our ergonomics provision. The role holder will contribute to the academic leadership and delivery of modules on our MSc Ergonomics and Human Factors (with pathways), support supervision of student research projects and and to the research profile of the Psychology Subject area, including applied Ergonomics and Human Factors research.</p><p>As we develop and grow our ergonomics and human factors provision, this role will include oversight, leadership and development of our online programmes, working with the Subject lead, senior academics and the wider teaching team to ensure continuation of excellent student experience and outcomes. There are also opportunities to contribute to the psychology provision and other areas that align with your area of expertise. We are passionate about inspiring and empowering our graduates in their future careers in a range of destinations, within industry, academia or other progression routes. The role will include leading and supporting our marketing events (e.g., open days) which occasionally take place into evenings and at weekends.</p><p>The Psychology subject area has an active research agenda, and you will be expected to engage with and support financially sustainable research and/or other appropriate academic activity. Our provision spans campus and online delivery there will be opportunity for working from home as agreed with the Subject Lead. We do support hybrid working as business needs permit. There is currently no requirement for line management in this role.&nbsp;</p><p>This is a part time position (0.6 FTE) which may be attractive to candidates who wish to continue practice based work and develop their academic practice alongside this.</p><h2>About You</h2><p>We are seeking a lecturer or senior lecturer in Ergonomics and Human Factors who holds (or is willing to gain) Chartered or Technical membership of the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF) to join our team delivering programmes in ergonomics. We would welcome applications from candidates with experience of teaching / training and leadership, and experience of relevant transferable skills in these areas from beyond higher education (e.g., industry based experience). The candidate should also have experience of undertaking research, and be passionate about supporting the development and growth of evidence in their field. The discipline area is actively engaged in knowledge exchange projects and has an active applied research agenda. </p><h2>About the Role</h2><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Technical colleagues within the College of Science and Engineering support a wide range of specialist resources and activities. Working independently and in collaboration with academics, our technicians play an important role in advancing the work in many of our academic disciplines. We support specialist areas such as laboratories, workshops and controlled environments. We also provide specialist support for Research Centres such as the Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering (IISE), East Midlands Institute of Technology (EMIOT) and the Nuclear Skills Academy (NSA).</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will contribute to laboratory and field-based learning across core civil engineering disciplines, including surveying, structural engineering, geotechnics, and fluid mechanics. Responsibilities will include maintenance, demonstrating technical procedures, preparing equipment and experimental setups, and supporting the delivery of practical classes and fieldwork. An important core aspect of the role will involve the support of surveying activities and field trips. This will include the operation, maintenance, and demonstration of surveying technologies such as robotic total stations, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, terrestrial laser scanners, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), you will also support the processing, management, and presentation of survey data, producing outputs aligned with current industry standards.</p><h2>About You</h2><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">You will hold qualification(s) equivalent to a degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline, or possess comparable knowledge and transferable skills gained through relevant professional experience. The ideal candidate will have significant specialist technical experience within civil engineering, including surveying or site-based measurement activities, preferably gained within an industrial, research, or educational environment. You will be proficient in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of surveying equipment, including total stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, digital levels, laser scanners, and associated data-logging devices.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will have a solid understanding of structural engineering principles, geotechnics and fluid mechanics relating to civil engineering applications. This includes experience supporting laboratory or field-based activities, assisting with the preparation and assembly of test setups and data analysis.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">A Full UK Driving License (manual) is essential for this role as you will be required to drive the University of Derby vehicles; and hired vehicles (up to 3.5 tonne) to transport equipment between sites. Please note that we are unable to offer adapted vehicles.
