Significant investmentfrom the University has led to the development of a wide range of new academic posts across Derby Business School, and we are now looking to attract the very best academic talent to contribute to our growing success as we embark on an ambitious expansion over the next five years in response to increasing demand for our programmes. 

Derby Business School (DBS) consists of four divisions – Accounting, Business and Management, Economics and Finance, and Marketing and Operations, and is widely recognised for its excellent teaching credentials, high levels of student satisfaction, low staff student ratios, and high employability rates for our graduates. For example, all the subject provision in Business School is ranked in the top 40 in the recent Guardian 2018 University League tables. There is also an emerging scholarly and research culture, underpinned by a new research strategy, which is allied to strong links to industry and practice, and acknowledged as a real strength by our stakeholders. We work very closely with a very wide range of professional bodies including We work closely with a wide range of professional bodies including ACCA, CIMA, CIM, CMI, CIPD,  CILT, ICAEW, IFA, CIPFA and AIA 

For this new post in Business and Management we are looking to appoint an experienced academic to help manage the development of our postgraduate/undergraduate programmes, and work closely with the Head of the Business and Management Division  to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of our teaching programmes in order to allow us to continue to provide an exceptional student experience, and ensuring that enterprise, employability and 'real-world' learning are at the heart of the curriculum.

The post holder will have particular responsibility for teaching on (and leading) modules in the subject area of Contemporary Business and Management Issues.. However, a flexible approach to teaching on a broader range of Business modules as necessary is required.

In order to support our research ambitions the successful candidates will engage in research which influences leading edge practice, informs and inspires research-led curriculum and contributes to continuing subject expertise and continuation to REF.
