At the University of Derby, we have always taken great pride in our approach to teaching and learning.

What we teach and the way we teach it is designed to ensure all our students benefit from academic challenge, outstanding facilities and relevant work experience opportunities which ensure upon graduating they are best placed to realise their goals and aspirations.

Our people are central to all our plans and I have been deeply impressed by the quality of the staff teams across both academic and professional services. The University has an enlightened approach to people management that I think is refreshing.

We are passionate about allowing all our people to reach their potential and I think we have an enviable reputation for developing and nurturing talent at all levels. This has allowed the University to benefit from ‘world class’ levels of staff engagement in recent years which I believe puts us in a healthy position for whatever the future may hold.

We hope you find this new opportunity of interest and one that will be challenging but rewarding.

Thank you for the interest shown in our University.

Our future

Our strategic framework provides the foundations and direction on which to plan, perform and succeed in a changing and globally dynamic environment between now and 2030.

Developed in consultation with staff, students and stakeholders, the Framework has a simple promise at its heart; everything the University does is driven by delivering excellence and opportunities for students, staff and the region.

The Framework is designed to allow us to be flexible and adaptable to the changing environment in which we operate. We are ambitious for our students, staff and the region. Knowing what is right today, may not be for tomorrow and getting this right is most important for our future success.
