Building on this success and in light of the creation of new degree Apprenticeship Standards the University has developed and introduced a number of new degree higher Apprenticeships across a range of sectors.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">As an Apprenticeship Workplace Reviewer, you will work with the programme team to lead on facilitating reviews between apprentices, employers and liaising with relevant academic staff. Your engagement with employers and their apprentices is foremost to ensuring our existing and future apprenticeship programmes provide an excellent learning experience, meeting employers and apprentice expectations, in line with the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education (IfATE) and Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) governance requirements for apprenticeship provision.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will work collaboratively with both academic staff and apprenticeship account managers to ensure systems and process are adhered to and that both quality and compliance is maintained to the highest standard in line with service level agreements. You will organise visits with external clients, apprentices and internal staff to ensure the implementation of quality reviews and assessment of evidence for audit using an e-portfolio. You will act as a personal professional academic tutor for learners and will need to engage actively on working with employers to support learners who have disclosed a need for additional support.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">The role will include travelling to a variety of employer premises in the UK.</p><h2>About You</h2><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">The successful candidate will possess a strong educational background in the built environment, with an honours degree or higher in Civil Engineering, or a closely related discipline.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will demonstrate substantial professional experience across the built environment sector, potentially spanning areas such as civil engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, transport and infrastructure projects, structural works, site-based operations, geotechnics, fluid engineering, or surveying practice.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You should have previous management or supervisory experience, with the proven ability to coordinate activities, support teams, and manage professional relationships effectively. The discipline area is actively engaged in knowledge exchange projects and has an active applied research agenda. </p><h2>About the Role</h2><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Technical colleagues within the College of Science and Engineering support a wide range of specialist resources and activities. Working independently and in collaboration with academics, our technicians play an important role in advancing the work in many of our academic disciplines. We support specialist areas such as laboratories, workshops and controlled environments. We also provide specialist support for Research Centres such as the Institute for Innovation in Sustainable Engineering (IISE), East Midlands Institute of Technology (EMIOT) and the Nuclear Skills Academy (NSA).</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will contribute to laboratory and field-based learning across core civil engineering disciplines, including surveying, structural engineering, geotechnics, and fluid mechanics. Responsibilities will include maintenance, demonstrating technical procedures, preparing equipment and experimental setups, and supporting the delivery of practical classes and fieldwork. An important core aspect of the role will involve the support of surveying activities and field trips. This will include the operation, maintenance, and demonstration of surveying technologies such as robotic total stations, Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receivers, terrestrial laser scanners, and Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), you will also support the processing, management, and presentation of survey data, producing outputs aligned with current industry standards.</p><h2>About You</h2><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">You will hold qualification(s) equivalent to a degree in Civil Engineering, Surveying, or a related discipline, or possess comparable knowledge and transferable skills gained through relevant professional experience. The ideal candidate will have significant specialist technical experience within civil engineering, including surveying or site-based measurement activities, preferably gained within an industrial, research, or educational environment. You will be proficient in the operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of surveying equipment, including total stations, GNSS/GPS equipment, digital levels, laser scanners, and associated data-logging devices. You will therefore also have the ability to train and supervise students and researchers in the correct and safe use of equipment.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will have a solid understanding of structural engineering principles, geotechnics and fluid mechanics relating to civil engineering applications. This includes experience supporting laboratory or field-based activities, assisting with the preparation and assembly of test setups and data analysis.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">A Full UK Driving License (manual) is essential for this role as you will be required to drive the University of Derby vehicles; and hired vehicles (up to 3.5 tonne) to transport equipment between sites. Please note that we are unable to offer adapted vehicles. Generally being the first interaction our customers and visitors will have with us, the service they receive will shape their experience.&nbsp;</p><h2>About the Role</h2><p id="isPasted">As a Security Controller, you&rsquo;ll play a key role in ensuring the safety and security of our students, staff, and facilities across the University of Derby. Based within our 24/7 Control Room at the Kedleston Road campus, you&rsquo;ll coordinate all aspects of security operations, from incident response and monitoring CCTV systems to directing on-site teams and liaising with external agencies when required.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll act as the central point of contact for all planned and reactive security activity, ensuring a professional, efficient and customer-focused service at all times. This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same &ndash; requiring quick thinking, sound judgement, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.</p><p>The full-time working hours for this role are 42 hours per week, working a 4 on 4 off pattern. The shifts are 12 hours (07:00 to 19:00 and 19:00 to 07:00), with a 24/7 rota in place. The salary advertised includes a 20% shift allowance.</p><p><em>Please Note: On appointment, the job title will be &quot;Operations Controller&quot;.</em></p><h2>About You</h2><p id="isPasted">You&rsquo;ll bring proven experience from a control room or security operations environment, with strong situational awareness and the confidence to take the lead during incidents. You&rsquo;ll have excellent communication and organisational skills, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to make quick, effective decisions when it matters most.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll be comfortable using CCTV, radio, and access control systems, as well as maintaining accurate records and reports. A customer-focused mindset and the ability to handle sensitive or challenging situations with professionalism are essential.</p><p>You&rsquo;ll hold GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, along with a full, clean UK driving licence. An international consortium of researchers from the University of Derby (UK), University of Trieste (Italy), OGS (Istituto Nazionale di Oceanografia e Geofisica Sperimentale, Italy), University of Malta (Malta), and RudenAS (Norway) work across 4 work packages to improve knowledge and understanding of technical, social, legal and economic frameworks that underpin the discovery and use of OFG across Europe.</p><p>You will join the University of Derby as a RESCUE project Co-Investigator to contribute to the development and application of technical methods, workflows, datasets, and dissemination outputs relating to large-scale modelling of subsurface reservoir systems in the Southern North Sea. The machine learning subsurface modelling tool EMBER will be used within Petrel workflows to efficiently derive cutting-edge subsurface porosity and permeability models from large-scale 3D seismic and well datasets. The RESCUE team will then perform dynamic flow simulations for the Southern North Sea using MODFLOW6 and Flopy.</p><h2>About You</h2><p>For this research role, you will hold a PhD or equivalent (pending or awarded) in a relevant discipline. You will have experience working with methodologies and techniques in subsurface reservoir modelling using seismic reflection and wireline log data. You will be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as being communicative and an effective team worker. You will have experience working with seismic reflection and wireline log data, which is essential for this role. Based at Saith Ltd&rsquo;s premises in Hampshire, you will be employed by the University as a KTP Associate but work under the terms and conditions of the company.</p><p>You will lead the design, development, and deployment of a practical, production-ready AI-enabled Digital Twin platform to support intelligent asset management within energy and utility infrastructure. You will work at the interface of research and industry, translating advanced AI, computer vision, and data-driven methods into scalable solutions deployed within live engineering environments.</p><p>You will take ownership of the end-to-end system lifecycle, integrating multi-source data including BIM, LiDAR, point cloud, and operational datasets to develop solutions for automated inspection, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and intelligent decision-support. A number also hold professional accreditation status through organisations such as the Science Council, which establishes knowledge, understanding and competence.</p><h2>About the Role</h2><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true">You will support and develop practical related activities for the engineering technician apprenticeship scheme. Working across level 3, level 4 and level 6 programmes within the Skills Academy, with a particular emphasis on emphasis on welding processes and techniques, within a mechanical engineering context.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">Working closely with academics and members of technical team, you will provide specialist support relating to machine shop activities. Working across several laboratories with a high degree of autonomy, and providing additional technical support across the academy as required.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;">You will be part of our technical team responsible for the maintenance, operation and safety of college equipment. Able to provide full technical support to apprentice students and staff, including training and advice on the appropriate use of resources.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><em>This role is employed by University of Derby but works in partnership with Rolls-Royce Submarines Ltd. Due to the nature of work that Rolls-Royce Submarines Ltd conducts and the protection of certain assets, some roles within the Nuclear Skills Academy (NSA) require post-holders to hold Security Clearance (SC).&nbsp;</em></p><p style="margin-left:0cm;"><em>This role does not currently require SC clearance, and this will not be a condition of appointment to this role.
