From 1st August 2026, our Osteopath programme will be part of the School of Health, Sport, and Rehabilitation. As part of our provision, the School runs an osteopathic clinic. The clinic is primarily operated by students, who are supervised by academic and instructor/mentor staff.&nbsp;</p><p>The team are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and high-quality clinical learning environment, as well as excellent patient care while helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours required for osteopathic practice. Working collaboratively, the team supports students to build confidence and competence through supervised clinical experience with members of the public who access care through the university clinic.</p><h2>About the Role</h2><p>This role will support the clinical education of osteopathy students within the Derby University Osteopathy Clinic by providing mentorship, guidance, and oversight during patient consultations. There is also the potential to support sport therapy students within the Derby University Sport Therapy Clinic. The role holder will observe student practice, provide timely feedback to support the development of clinical reasoning, professional behaviours, and treatment planning, and help foster a safe and supportive learning environment. This role will work alongside academic staff to help maintain high standards of patient care by monitoring clinical activity, reinforcing clinic protocols, and escalating any concerns where appropriate. Through their presence in clinic sessions, the role will enhance the consistency and quality of student supervision, support the development of student confidence and competence, and contribute to the effective and safe operation of the clinic.</p><p>This role is a fixed term contract for 24 months.</p><p style="margin-left:0cm;" data-pasted="true"><em>This role is a full-time position of 37 hours a week, however we would welcome applications from candidates who wish to be considered on a part time or job share basis. You will develop, co-ordinate and facilitate regional outreach and student recruitment activities in key regions, while also addressing the specific opportunities provided across Derby, Derbyshire and neighbouring counties.</p><p>You will lead outreach and recruitment activities designed to broaden access to Higher Education (HE) in general and the University of Derby specifically within the region. The aim of the role is to build relationships, raise awareness of the University and the City of Derby to attract a wide interest in the University and its courses, ultimately leading to increased undergraduate recruitment.</p><p>The role will require frequent and extensive travel to schools, colleges and events venues across the country. Our team provides high-quality teaching, professional skills development, and meaningful employer engagement to support confident progression into the health and social care sector</p><p>You will deliver and assess the Level 4 AIMS Counselling qualification, supporting learners to develop the advanced knowledge, skills, and professional behaviours required for progression into counselling practice. This includes teaching core therapeutic theories, facilitating skills-based workshops, guiding learners through reflective practice, and ensuring all assessment evidence meets AIMS standards and regulatory requirements.</p><p>The Role involves maintaining a safe, ethical, and supportive learning environment, modelling professional conduct, and embedding key counselling competencies such as active listening, ethical decision-making, case formulation, and working within recognised counselling frameworks. You will provide constructive feedback, track learner progress, and contribute to quality assurance procedures to uphold the integrity of the qualification. Experience within counselling practice and a sound understanding of sector-specific professional standards are essential.</p><p id="isPasted">Salary range from &pound;14.05 - &pound;26.53 per hour.</p><p>Your rate of pay will be determined by your qualified teacher status.&nbsp;</p><p>If you hold a relevant teaching qualification; the lower rate of &pound;15.16 per hour will apply for non-teaching scheduled work.
